Take the lead in delivering complex Civil, Structural & Architectural engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment
Our Client has a requirement for a Senior CS&A Engineer, who will be required to work on a staff or contract basis in Warrington.
Role Purpose:
- Support the delivery of Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) project elements in collaboration with stakeholders and engineering disciplines.
- Deliver high-quality engineering designs, assessments and technical solutions throughout project phases.
- Interface with integrated design teams, facility teams and other project functions to ensure successful project delivery.
- Contribute to the safe, efficient and compliant execution of engineering packages within a highly regulated environment.
Job Role Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of CS&A design deliverables including designs, assessments, drawings and reports.
- Check and approve engineering outputs to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
- Produce civil and structural calculations, design assessments and substantiations.
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work and method statements.
- Work closely with integrated design teams, systems engineering teams and other project stakeholders.
- Undertake site visits as required to support project delivery.
- Seek input from engineers, specialists, facility teams and project team members to ensure fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Present technical information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences.
- Deliver work independently and autonomously during engineering package execution.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:
- Degree qualified CS&A Engineer or equivalent through enhanced experience.
- Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer preferred, or as a minimum Incorporated Engineer.
- Minimum of three years' experience working within a highly regulated industry.
- General all-round civil and structural design experience.
- Experience working on new nuclear build projects and interfaces with existing structures is preferred.
- Experience in the design of concrete, steel and masonry structures.
- Experience designing structures subject to normal and abnormal environmental loading conditions.
- Seismic assessment experience is desirable.
- Familiarity with a range of design technologies and engineering techniques.
- Proficient in steel and concrete design to current industry codes and standards.
- Knowledge of CDM and design responsibilities.
- Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor information to different audiences.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within integrated project environments.
- Experience delivering engineering work within the nuclear industry is desirable.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status is desirable.
- Experience within the broader nuclear sector is desirable.
- Interest or experience in sustainability initiatives is desirable.
Additional Information:
- Due to the nature of the work, applicants will need to meet residency requirements for UK Security Clearance.
- Security Clearance is required for this position and candidates must be sole British nationals.
